Description
The Precision Torsion Spring is presented as silver-plated square connector blocks with integrated crown spring blade socket contact inserts. Each square block is a self-contained interconnect: the crown spring blade socket insert accepts the mating pin, and the block format lets several contacts be ganged side by side in a connector assembly. The silver-plated finish is applied across the block and its insert, and the block format is easy to install and replace in the assembly.
When the pin enters the insert, the crown spring blade deflects and presses multiple contact surfaces against the pin at once. That multi-point grip distributes the current across several lines, keeps voltage drop low, and continues to conduct even if an individual blade feature is damaged. The block body also gives the insert a rigid mechanical seat within the assembly, and the multi-point grip holds the contact stable during vibration and shock loading.
Life and Range
Rated plug life is up to 100,000 cycles with low insertion and extraction forces; the block is offered in gold or silver plating. Ganging several blocks builds a high contact power density into the assembly, and the blade contact runs at low temperature rise. This family is specified from 1.0 mm to 18.0 mm sizes, working current up to 700 A and contact resistance down to 0.1 mΩ, over a 1.5–30 mm bore range. Linked applications include medical, telecom, electric vehicle, aerospace and high-speed rail connectors.
