Description
The Precision Torsion Spring Pin is delivered as precision-machined connector socket terminals fitted with crimp barrels and retaining flanges. The retaining flange holds the terminal firmly in the connector housing so it cannot shift under vibration, while the crimp barrel terminates the wire at the back of the socket. The forward socket section accepts the mating pin and houses the torsion spring contact. The machined terminal is easy to fit and replace inside the housing.
Inside the socket, elastic gold- or silver-plated spring wires are angled against the bore so the incoming pin presses them open in both the radial and axial directions. Several wires then carry the contact simultaneously, forming multiple independent current paths; a single broken wire does not open the circuit. The spring wires also wrap around the pin to share the load and keep the drop across the joint low, and the multi-wire contact survives vibration and shock without losing alignment.
Specifications
Life rating is 100,000 cycles, with low insertion and extraction forces and a low voltage drop. Plating is gold or silver. The multi-wire contact gives the terminal high contact power density and low temperature rise in service. The torsion spring family offers 1.0–18.0 mm sizes; at the top of the range working current is 700 A, contact resistance is 0.1 mΩ, and bore range is 1.5–30 mm. This socket-terminal variant is applied in medical, telecom, electric vehicle, aerospace and high-speed rail equipment, where connectors are routinely mated and unmated during testing and service.
Manufactured by Dongguan SISE (Spring-in-Spring) Electronics Co., Ltd., an ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certified manufacturer of precision spring contacts, high-current connector terminals and EMI/RFI shielding since 2011.
