A spring-loaded probe consists of three parts: a copper tube (barrel), a spring and a pin shaft. The pin shaft can be supplied with a variety of tip styles and different spring pressures to suit the application.
Tip and spring pressure selection
Choosing the right tip style and spring pressure ensures optimal contact with the test surface. Different tip profiles suit different test surfaces, while the spring pressure sets the contact force applied during testing.
Mounting and serviceability
The probe can be mounted in a socket connected to the circuit. This allows the test probe to be removed easily for repair or replacement and lets it be used for contact in a variety of applications.
