Spring finger contacts are a relatively new electrical interconnection method for the high-voltage switch industry. They combine a simple structure with convenient assembly, strong current-carrying ability and low cost, and are widely used in combined switchgear and circuit-breaker applications, where they help reduce both labour intensity and overall production cost.
Compact, economical and easy to integrate
The finger spring is small and light, uses little material and is inexpensive to produce. Its low profile suits compact equipment layouts where space is tight, and the small number of parts simplifies the design of the connecting device as a whole.
Multi-point contact for reliable current transfer
Each finger spring provides multiple points of contact arranged around the circumference. The result is a high degree of contact concentration with negligible resistance losses, allowing the contact to carry large currents while maintaining stable electrical and thermal performance.
Consistent pressure and long service life
The contact pressure at each point is modest, which gives the spring good wear characteristics and a wide operating range. The distributed-contact structure provides generous contact area, tolerates machining and assembly tolerances well, and is suited to large-scale production.
