Description

The spring-in-spring is a two-element canted coil contact in which an inner coil nests inside an outer coil to spread contact along the jack bore. The photographed form is the silver-plated spring-in-spring canted coil contact built for EV charging connector jacks. The wire diameter range is 0.10–2.0 mm, material is copper alloy or stainless steel, and size per the accessory drawing can be customized with the plating specification.

Spring-in-Spring Jack Contact

Because the nested coil arrangement keeps several contact rows live inside the socket, the spring-in-spring is suited to the jacks of new-energy EV charging connectors. The full jack set this contact is built for spans pin jacks 1.58mm; 2.8mm; 3.6mm and pin jacks 3mm; 6mm.

Jack plating is silver and jack material is brass, T2 copper, both customizable alongside the contact itself. The product is linked to Electric Vehicles, High-Speed Rail, Energy Storage & Battery Testing and Industrial & Robotics applications. Plating silver is standard and tin is available, and the socket finish can be matched to the rest of the connector in the same order.

The double-coil construction is the signature spring-in-spring (SiS®) layout that gives the contact its name: two coils working as one inside the jack bore. A new inner or outer coil can be drawn to change the effective contact window, so the bore can be adapted without changing the connector housing.

Manufactured by Dongguan SISE (Spring-in-Spring) Electronics Co., Ltd., an ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certified manufacturer of precision spring contacts, high-current connector terminals and EMI/RFI shielding since 2011.
