Description
The wire spring jack is offered here as socket contacts pre-mounted on formed metal busbar terminals, and the production photograph shows exactly that assembly — silver-plated, spring-loaded socket contacts riding on stamped terminal arms rather than as loose bodies. The formed busbar leads make the point: socket and current lead are engineered as one unit, so the joint survives as part of a larger power-carrying assembly. Because the socket end carries the single-leaf rotary hyperboloid wire contact, the current path from the mated pin runs straight down the arm with no separate intermediate piece to add a second interface.
Busbar-Terminal Integration
Attaching the socket directly to the busbar or stamped arm gives the designer a complete current-carrying sub-assembly: the bore accepts pins from 1.5–30 mm (other sizes customizable) while the arm carries heat and current away from the contact zone. On insertion the elastic wires deflect radially and axially and wrap the pin in a multi-line contact, forming several independent current paths; gold or silver plating is available per requirement, and a single wire breaking does not take the joint down. The arrangement also keeps insertion and extraction forces low while retaining the family's high contact power density.
Typical Applications
This variant is linked to medical, telecom, electric vehicle, aerospace and high-speed rail systems, where the terminal-arm form removes an assembly step and the socket delivers the low voltage drop, high vibration and shock resistance and up to 100,000 cycles of mating life that long-service equipment requires. Sizes outside the standard 1.5–30 mm bore range can be engineered to order.
