Description

The Pin Jack is a female socket terminal with a crimp barrel and an inspection hole. The hole in the barrel lets an assembler verify that the wire is seated fully home after crimping, supporting consistent terminations in production. The crimp barrel takes the wire at the back of the terminal, and the inspection hole confirms the insertion depth. The forward socket holds the torsion spring contact that receives the mating pin, and the terminal is straightforward to install and replace in the housing.

The socket's elastic gold- or silver-plated spring wires are arranged along the bore at an angle to the inner sleeve. Inserting the pin makes the wires deflect in both the radial and axial directions so that several wires contact the pin at the same time, forming multiple independent current paths. Even if one wire breaks, the socket still completes the circuit, and the redundant wires resist vibration and shock while running at low temperature rise.

Life and Finishes

Plug life reaches up to 100,000 cycles with low insertion and extraction forces and a low voltage drop; the terminal comes in gold or silver plating. The family ranges from 1.0 mm to 18.0 mm, with working current up to 700 A, contact resistance down to 0.1 mΩ and bore range 1.5–30 mm. In addition to medical, telecom, electric vehicle, aerospace and high-speed rail connectors, this jack is linked to satellite applications.

Manufactured by Dongguan SISE (Spring-in-Spring) Electronics Co., Ltd., an ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certified manufacturer of precision spring contacts, high-current connector terminals and EMI/RFI shielding since 2011.
