Description
The Precision Torsion Spring Jack is built as a silver-plated copper cable lug terminal with an integrated crown spring blade socket contact. The lug format lets a heavy conductor be bolted or crimped to the terminal body while the socket contact at the far end receives the mating pin. Rather than relying on a single point, the crown spring blade presents multiple contact positions to the pin. The lug body is machined in copper and silver plated, so the whole path from the cable to the contact carries the load.
When the pin inserts, the crown spring blade flexes and keeps several independent contact lines under load, distributing current and holding voltage drop low. The copper lug body carries the cable-side current path directly, which suits power and distribution circuits inside larger connectors. The silver plating provides a stable finish across the lug body and the mating interface, and the blade contact keeps insertion and extraction forces low.
Life, Finish and Range
The terminal carries a rated plug life up to 100,000 cycles and is available with gold or silver plating. It delivers high power capability with low temperature rise and is easy to install and replace in the field. The multi-line blade contact also gives a high contact power density in the joint. Sizes in the torsion spring family range from 1.0–18.0 mm, with working current up to 700 A, contact resistance as low as 0.1 mΩ and a bore range of 1.5–30 mm. Linked applications are medical, telecom, electric vehicles, aerospace and high-speed rail.
