Description
The wire spring jack is a machined female connector socket whose contact is carried by multiple internal canted coil spring rings. The product photograph shows two machined sockets with the internal rings visible inside them, loose rings beside them, so the spring construction can be inspected before assembly. Rather than a solid contact sleeve, the jack uses these wire-formed rings distributed along the socket bore to hold the mating pin. It is supplied for new-energy electric vehicle (EV) charging connectors and for industrial connector applications.
Pin sizes and finish
For charging connectors the wire spring jack is made in pin sizes 1.58mm; 2.8mm; 3.6mm and 3mm; 6mm. The standard finish is silver plating over brass, T2 copper, and plating and materials can be customized according to customer requirements, so the jack can be finished to match the connector housing and the rest of the charging contact set.
For industry use, the jack line covers sizes 1.5/3/5.7/6/8/9.07/10/12/14/15/16/18/20/22mm -28mm, and individual current levels can be customized according to customer needs. Springs for shielding are also offered, simplifying quick shielding interfaces, in specifications 35mm2, 50mm2, 75mm2, 90mm2, etc.
The internal-ring construction visible in the product photograph is what distinguishes the wire spring jack from solid-sleeve sockets in the same EV charging connector range: the rings are carried inside the machined socket body rather than on a separate carrier. Linked application is Electric Vehicles, with the same jack family also covering industrial connectors.
